Welcome to Monkey Puzzle

Hello. I’m Sasika and I am the Nursery Manager at Monkey Puzzle Riverside.

All of the staff here are eager to give every child the opportunity to shine. We encourage the children in their play while learning and being part of a caring and nurturing setting. We are dedicated to looking after your children and offer support to care givers and parents, as your feedback is so important to us.

Praised in our 2026 Ofsted report

Monkey Puzzle Riverside’s most recent Ofsted report was published in March 2026, confirming that safeguarding standards were fully met and children’s safety and wellbeing remain a top priority. The nursery achieved Expected Standard across five key areas of inspection, alongside a Strong Standard in one area, reflecting the high-quality care, learning and support provided by the team. Supporting Every Child’s Growth

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to guide your child’s development from birth to five, focusing on personal, social and emotional development, communication and language, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design. Each child has a dedicated key person to provide care, reassurance, and support, keeping a Learning Journey to track progress and achievements, which parents are encouraged to view and contribute to.

Healthy, Balanced Meals for Growing Children

We know a nutritious diet is key to your child’s growth and development. Every day we provide fresh, balanced meals and snacks designed to broaden their food experiences, including a variety of breakfast options like wholemeal toast, non-sugared cereals, and fruit. Lunch and tea are freshly prepared on-site, with choices to suit all tastes and dietary needs. Children are encouraged to drink water throughout the day, and our cook, trained as an allergen champion, ensures every dietary requirement is carefully met. Menus and recipes are available on request.

At Monkey Puzzle Riverside, our nursery is designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and independence in children aged 3 months to 5 years. Babies, Tweenies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers enjoy bright, thoughtfully equipped rooms, sensory experiences, and access to outdoor learning in our gardens. Play-based activities, small group learning, and exploration both indoors and outdoors help children develop confidence, social skills, and a love of discovery, while preparing them for the next stage of their learning journey.

Healthy Eating

As children grow, a healthy and balanced diet is key, and we inspire with a variety of colour, texture, and taste to expand their food experiences.

Seasonal and local produce are also important in helping children understand more about where food comes from and nutrition.

Monkey Puzzle Riverside is conveniently located just off the A45, close to the Billing Aquadrome. The nursery provides outstanding facilities for children aged from 3 months through to preschool age.
